The best beaches in North Wales
The beaches I will cover are, in m opinion, the best in South Wales and a must-visit for anyone.
Tresaith Beach – Ceredigion
Tresaith is set in a small sheltered sandy bay that gets its name from the River Saith, which spills over the cliffs like a waterfall down to the beach. This beach is excellent for families and people looking for some lovely views. It also has nearby shops, cafes, a pub and public toilets.
Tresaith beach is excellent for water sports such as sailing and surfing. It has a sailing club and a slipway. You may also get lucky while here and spot some dolphins and seals! There is also rock pooling here.
This beach is a great all-rounder because there is a lot to do. As long as it’s not too busy, it’s a great choice.

Blue Pool Bay (Blue Pool Corner) – Glamorgan
Blue Pool Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in South Wales. This is made even better because it is very quiet. This is because it is quite a walk to get to, especially with gear. Don’t let the just under-a-mile walk put you off, though. This golden sand bay in South Wales is the beach to visit.
You will have so much fun if you can get your surfboard (or other water sports gear) down to this beach. The name for this bay comes from a giant roc poo (15ft across); the pool is about 8 meters deep at high tide. This means it’s excellent for cliff jumping – there is an injury risk, so I’m not recommending you do it without experience and people with you. Especially be careful here as it’s far from anything and has no lifeguard if you hurt yourself.
Note: There is no lifeguard cover for this beach. If you visit, please be wary and safe.

North Tenby Beach – Pembrokeshire
Tenby North Beach is easy to spot if you are in Tenby. You know you are here when the iconic Goscar Rock greets you. You will find a long stretch of golden sand on North Tenby Beach. As this beach backs onto the town, you have loads of restaurants, shops, pubs, and cafes within walking distance. There are lots of watersports that go on at this beach. If that’s not for you, don’t worry, as deck chairs are also available to hire.
Being surrounded by cliffs, North Tenby Beach is often regarded as one of the prettiest beaches in Pembrokeshire. Looking out to sea, you will have beautiful views across Carmarthen Bay. North Tenby Beach is accessed via the steps from North Cliff or the Harbour. Being attractive and easy to access, it is a busy spot with good weather.
