Here I have my Kentfaith ND filter that the company kindly gifted me to review. I am going to talk about my experience using this filter, including;
The effects of using a filter, how versatile it is, and how easily it travels so that it can be used for any shot due to being able to go from ND2 up to ND400 all within one filter. There is also a nice little discount code at the bottom of the page.
What is an ND Filter
The ND filter is a filter that is placed before the lens (or dropped into a filter slot) to reduce the amount of light entering the camera. Think of the ND filter as sunglasses for your camera, sunglasses that do not change the colour of the light captured by the camera and lens, hence the “neutral”.
This ND filter allows you to shoot with wide-aperture lenses in bright light without overexposing. This allows shallow depth of field and selective focus effects while under lighting conditions that exceed the shutter speed capabilities of the camera.
Please note that you should verify your camera’s lens thread size before you buy an ND filter. Your camera’s lens thread size will be marked somewhere on the lens barrel or printed underneath your lens cap. This number is always preceded by a “ø” (diameter) symbol.

My Experience and Opinion
So far, I have had a fantastic experience with this ND filter. I took it with me to a wild camp for some sunrise shots. The fact that it is variable made a massive difference. I didn’t know which ND I would need and didn’t want to carry many different ones. I had to pack light, and having one filter with a vast range saved a lot of weight and space.
As a hiker/camper, this has to be one of my favourite features of this filter. Being a landscape photographer is challenging; you have all the gear of an average hiker/camper, but you then have another load of equipment to add to your bag for the photography side of my hikes which makes the hikes that little bit more challenging, so I have to try and save space where possible, and this is such a fantastic way to do it.
When I got the sunrise photo, I struggled with getting the correct settings. At one end, the foreground looked black, and the sky looked okay but still too bright, and then at the other end, the foreground looked alright; however, the sky just looked white. I needed to even it out. The KentFaith Concept Variable ND Filter came to the rescue for this…
It made it, so less light was getting in as it was such a bright morning. Without this filter, I wouldn’t have been able to get any photos. That I would have been happy with. Having such a small ND filter that I could carry saved the photos on this trip. (I will put the images below.)
Do I recommend it?
I recommend the KentFaith Concept Variable ND Filter for anyone looking to get into filters. It gives you many options within one filter—the space this filter saves due to how compact it is worth considering when you buy your own.
