Mountain Equipment Superflux Jacket Review

·

The Mountain Equipment Superflux jacket is a synthetically insulated jacket. The coat is lightweight and can be packed away tightly to fit into your pack nicely. This Mountain Equipment coat is good but worth the £170 RRP… Let’s delve into the specifics of the coat and what I think of it.

What I think of the Mountains Equipment Superflux

So, what do I think about the Mountain Equipment Superflux, and why?

This jacket is warm and comfortable and fits well. The shape of the jacket ensures that it fits the body well. I like it fitting like this because the jacket doesn’t impede anything you do. Another reason this is useful is being in the UK; it’s very windy and rainy (all the time). Putting on a wind/waterproof coat is essential. So with it being the shape, you can put that extra layer on without it being uncomfortable.

The second feature I like about his is how it packs down. This Mountain Equipment jacket has a feature where it can pack down small. It goes into one of the hand pockets (the one with two carabiner loops. This feature is attractive as you don’t need it some days, but it’s always good. Alternatively, you may start with it on, but then you need to remove it, and it will fit in without taking up much space.

Finally, the jacket is synthetically insulated and not down, so it will still work if wet. At the same time, down jackets don’t function properly (or at all) when they get wet. Being in the UK, bad weather is inevitable. [When down gets wet, it clumps together and loses its loft, so it performs poorly at holding in heat. But when it’s properly washed and dried, down will fluff up just like new and insulate your body much better.] This was taken from Cleaverhiker.com

What do I think, should you get it? Is it worth it? Well, with everything, you must try it on to ensure you like how it fits and looks. However, it’s worth the money if you like the fit and how it looks. I like the look and fit. I also find it very warm and comfortable and holds up in the cold, well temperate, even though it is pretty thin.
