The Women Rab Cirrus Alpine jacket is synthetically insulated, perfect for keeping you toasty during cold hikes and climbs. Well, that’s what it’s designed to be for. How does it actually stack up and what do we think after a few months of testing this jacket?
Rab Womens Cirrus Alpine Jacket
Being a synthetic insulated jacket, it is well versed for the British weather, whereas if it was down, it would be useless the second it gets wet. That’s why for UK hikers we always recommend going synthetic.
If you’re looking for a jacket that will keep you warm during cold hikes and climbs, the Rab Womens Cirrus Alpine Jacket is definitely worth considering.
One of the standout features of this jacket is its use of 100% recycled PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Luxe, making it all the more appealing as an eco-friendly choice!
The elasticated hood and adjustable hem ensure a comfortable, snug fit allowing for helmets (I’m talking to you climbers and mountaineers – or possibly those who are a little bit more unstable, I should probably wear one when I’m out!)
on top of this, the YKK zipped hand pockets and inner pocket provides convenient storage options and for a woman’s item of clothing, it’s nice to feel appreciated in the pocket department.
My opinion
Techy stuff aside, what really matters is how it makes you feel. Having tried out this Jacket, I have found it to be the perfect fit for my body type. I would say I definitely have a wider hip in comparison to my waist, so it can be tricky finding a comfortable jacket that isn’t too long! The length of it allows full unrestricted movement.
Due to it being lightweight, this means I don’t feel slowed down in any way when hiking, and the way it compacts is a game changer for those sudden British weather changes!
I have the Grey/Bluecoat which pairs well with other items of clothing surprisingly well, it adds a pop of colour and makes me feel quite fashionable too.
Conclusion
All in all, I’d definitely recommend this coat. It’s been through some tough conditions despite only having owned it for a short while, and so far the durability is really giving. As the cool kids say, this coat is so slay. (seriously though, I love it!)
